Army Chief and Vice President's Wife Visit Fort Stewart

FORT STEWART, GA -- Fort Stewart soldiers and their spouses hosted a pair of VIP visitors Monday -- the Army's top general, Gen. George Casey, and the vice president's wife, Jill Biden. During the visit, Gen. Casey pinned medals on 12 Fort Stewart troops who earned the awards while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan last year. Biden spoke to Army spouses on post and visited an elementary school in neighboring Hinesville. An Army wife herself, she said she was nervous when her son Beau joined the National Guard and deployed to Iraq in 2009. But she said she learned the Army would take good care of him.
